The past year was one of the most active periods for some time in terms of legislative changes relating to superannuation and retirement.
Many of those changes enacted by the Federal Government last year actually come into effect this year, and this issue focusses on the relevance and impact of the changes. The changes are wide ranging, including ammendments to regulations on spouse superannuation contributions splitting, to child beneficiary payouts, and to growth pensions. There has also been further clarification from the Australian Tax Office in relation to Transition to Retirement structures.
